About Guiding Tutor Hub
About Me – A Passion for Transforming Maths Confidence & Belief
My name is Bilal, and I am the founder of Guiding Tutor Hub, an online tutoring service dedicated to helping Year 9 to Year 11 students master GCSE Maths, with a special focus on Algebra. Based in London, I created this service because I understand firsthand how daunting maths can feel when you're struggling, and I want to help students not only improve their grades but also discover their potential.
My Journey: From Struggling Student to Maths Lover
During my school years, I was far from a natural at maths. I was predicted an E at GCSE, a grade that reflected my frustration and lack of confidence at the time. I remember feeling overwhelmed, stupid and discouraged, especially when comparing myself to peers who seemed to grasp concepts effortlessly.
But everything changed when I started working with a supportive maths tutor. They didn’t just teach me formulas; they helped me rebuild my confidence and approach maths with a new mindset. Slowly but surely, the subject that once felt impossible became manageable, then enjoyable. By the time I sat my GCSEs, I had achieved a high grade A, a transformation that inspired me to pursue a Mathematics degree, where I graduated with a 2:1.
Why I Tutor: More Than Just Grades
My experience taught me that struggling in maths is rarely about ability—it’s about belief. Too many students give up because they think, "I’m just not a maths person." But I know from personal experience that with the right guidance, anyone can improve.
That’s why Guiding Tutor Hub is different. My approach combines:
✔ Structured, exam-focused lessons—clear explanations, tailored practice, and progress tracking.
✔ Mindset coaching—helping students overcome self-doubt and develop resilience.
✔ A patient, encouraging environment—where questions are always welcome, and mistakes are part of learning.
I’m currently training to become a qualified secondary school maths teacher (PGCE), and my goal is to bring that same dedication and care to every student I tutor.
The Vision for Guiding Tutor Hub:
Beyond one-on-one tutoring, I want to build a team of like-minded educators who share my teaching philosophy: that every student can succeed with the right support. My mission is to help young people not only pass their exams but also leave with confidence that extends beyond the classroom.
If you or your child is feeling stuck in maths, I’d love to help. Together, we can turn frustration into progress—and maybe even a newfound appreciation for the subject.
